  • Gravity Falls (Disney Channel)
  • The Simpsons (FOX)

Sesska’s Pick: So if you ever wanted to know one of my obsessions….it’s late night talk shows. And I love and watch ALL of these so I really don’t mind who gets it. But I guess I would go with Jimmy Kimmel. He will probably always be my favorite.

BEST MOVIE MADE FOR TELEVISION

  • Bessie (HBO)
  • Killing Jesus (National Geographic Channel)
  • Nightingale (HBO)

  • James Nesbitt – The Missing (Starz)
  • Kiefer Sutherland – 24: Live Another Day (FOX)
  • Mark Rylance – Wolf Hall (PBS)

  • Aunjanue Ellis – The Book of Negroes (BET)
  • Felicity Huffman – American Crime (ABC)
  • Frances McDormand – Olive Kitteridge (HBO)
  • Jessica Lange – American Horror Story: Freak Show (FX)
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal – The Honorable Woman (Sundance)
  • Queen Latifah – Bessie (HBO)

Sesska’s Pick: Ugh…….this certainly is a category of big names. Though I’m almost always on the Jessica Lange, I wouldn’t mind seeing Queen Latifah or Felicity Huffman take it this year.

  • Cory Michael Smith – Olive Kitteridge (HBO)
  • Elvis Nolasco – American Crime (ABC)

BEST COMEDY SERIES

  • Broad City (Comedy Central)
  • Jane the Virgin (The CW)
  • Mom (CBS)
  • Silicon Valley (HBO)
  • Transparent (Amazon)
  • Veep (HBO)
  • You’re the Worst (FX)

Sesska’s Pick: Since Parks and Rec left the air, there’s been one show that has me laughing hysterically every week and that show is Silicon Valley.

BEST ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES

  • Anthony Anderson, Blackish (ABC)
  • Chris Messina, The Mindy Project (FOX)
  • Jeffrey Tambor, Transparent (Amazon)
  • Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
  • Thomas Middleditch, Silicon Valley (HBO)
  • Will Forte, The Last Man on Earth (FOX)

Sesska’s Pick: God I can’t choose!!!!!! I love literally everyone nominated. Though Will Forte and Thomas Middleditch have absolutely stunning performances, I have to go with Chris Messina to give FOX a big “f*ck you” for taking it’s best comedy off the air.

BEST ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES

  • Amy Schumer, Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central)
  • Constance Wu, Fresh Off the Boat (ABC)
  • Gina Rodriguez, Jane the Virgin (The CW)
  • Ilana Glazer, Broad City (Comedy Central)

  • T.J. Miller, Silicon Valley (HBO)
  • Tituss Burgess, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix)
  • Tony Hale, Veep (HBO)

Sesska’s Pick: Can we have a three way tie between TJ Miller, Tituss Burgess and Cameron Monaghan? I am most inclined to root for Monaghan given the very intense and heartwrenching storyline he went through this season but comedy wise Miller and Burgess are on point. I JUST DON’T KNOW!!!!!!!

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES

  • Allison Janney, Mom (CBS)
  • Carrie Brownstein, Portlandia (IFC)
  • Eden Sher, The Middle (ABC)
  • Judith Light, Transparent (Amazon)

  • Becky Ann Baker, Girls (HBO)
  • Bradley Whitford, Transparent (Amazon)
  • Josh Charles, Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central)
  • Laurie Metcalf, The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
  • Peter Gallagher, Togetherness (HBO)
  • Susie Essman, Broad City (Comedy Central)

Sesska’s Pick: I’d be okay with Josh Charles because when he spoofed Coach Eric Taylor, it made my life better but Bradley Whitford needs an award for his work on Transparent so he’s my pick.

BEST DRAMA SERIES

  • The Americans (FX)
  • Empire (Fox)
  • Game of Thrones (HBO)
  • The Good Wife (CBS)
  • Homeland (Showtime)
  • Justified (FX)
  • Orange Is the New Black (Netflix)

Sesska’s Pick: Oh great, it’s getting even harder. Okay Orange is the New Black you can’t just submit yourself for whichever category you think you’ll do best in….just pick one! You were a comedy last year! Bah! For that reason I’m not going with OITNB even though that show is awesome. I feel like I would have to choose Game of Thrones….it still remains as some of the best television ever and it doesn’t look like it’s losing any steam. But The Americans, Empire or Justified would also be acceptable.

BEST ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES

  • Eva Green – Penny Dreadful (Showtime)
  • Julianna Margulies – The Good Wife (CBS)
  • Keri Russell – The Americans (FX)
  • Taraji P. Henson – Empire (FOX)
  • Vera Farmiga – Bates Motel (A&E)
  • Viola Davis – How to Get Away with Murder (ABC)

Sesska’s Pick: VERA FARMIGA. VERA FARMIGA. VERA FARMIGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES

  • Aden Young – Rectify (Sundance)
  • Bob Odenkirk – Better Call Saul (AMC)
  • Charlie Hunnam – Sons of Anarchy (FX)
  • Freddie Highmore – Bates Motel (A&E)
  • Matthew Rhys – The Americans (FX)
  • Timothy Olyphant – Justified (FX)

Sesska’s Pick: Stop it. I can’t choose. First of all, both Charlie Hunnam and Timothy Olyphant deserve an award for their legendary work on such iconic shows and this is their final shot. But Freddie Highmore and Matthew Rhys? I’m still mad neither of them won last year…..come Critics, let’s choose right this year.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES

  • Carrie Coon – The Leftovers (HBO)
  • Christine Baranski – The Good Wife (CBS)
  • Joelle Carter – Justified (FX)

  • Craig T. Nelson – Parenthood (NBC)
  • Jonathan Banks – Better Call Saul (AMC)
  • Mandy Patinkin – Homeland (Showtime)
  • Walton Goggins – Justified (FX)

Sesska’s Pick: I love Jonathan Banks. Ben Mendelsohn was such an epic actor on Bloodline and he deserves every award he can get. But Walton Goggins ALL DAY EVERYDAY. He’s Boyd f*cking Crowder and he’s amazing. Give him that award.

GUEST PERFORMER IN A DRAMA SERIES

  • Cicely Tyson – How to Get Away with Murder (ABC)
  • Julianne Nicholson – Masters of Sex (Showtime)
  • Linda Lavin – The Good Wife (CBS)
  • Lois Smith – The Americans (FX)
  • Sam Elliott – Justified (FX)
  • Walton Goggins – Sons of Anarchy (FX)

Sesska’s Pick: This should literally end up in a tie for me. After watching that particular episode of The Americans, I was like “this woman needs and award for that performance” and it was one scene. ONE SCENE! And by the end of it, she had me in tears. But as you can tell I love Walton Goggins and he needs some love for his work on Sons just as much as Justified. So yeah, if we could make this category a tie….I would really appreciate it.
